Garreth is a world class operator, he seems to have a never give up mentality to find the fish. He is professional, courteous and organized. If you are ever looking to go fishing out of Cape Town he is your guy, it’s always good to see young guys going for it because you know they have a point to prove to the old timers.

Coming from the UK I had no idea about offshore fishing so thought I would give it a try, I have been back to South Africa over 5 times now, and I have fished with Garreth every single time I’ve been back. Each trip has been better than the last one, and I don’t think there is anyone more passionate about fishing, he ran me through every part of the process and it was awesome how many types of fish we were able to bring in. My family and I had an unforgettable day at sea, chasing triple-digit Yellowfin in the deep waters off Cape Point. The equipment was in pristine condition, and the boat was an extremely comfortable fishing platform, whether we were trolling, drifting on bait, or running to and from the fishing grounds. The wish list was simple: big fish. Gareth and the team at Atlantic Drift delivered in spectacular fashion. We caught eight Yellowfin, with the biggest weighing an incredible 92 kg. Gareth is a strong advocate for catch-and-release, so we kept two Yellowfin, which were beautifully filleted for us, while the rest were released to fight another day. None of the fish were sold. An absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. If you're looking for a professional, well-run operation with a genuine passion for the fishery and an emphasis on responsible fishing, I couldn't recommend Atlantic Drift more highly

Just being around Garreth, who truly lives and breathes fishing, makes his passion completely contagious. You can’t help but feel the same adrenaline and excitement he does just by being out on the boat with him. He is incredibly knowledgeable, so not only do you have an amazing day out fishing, but you also walk away having learned so much that you’ll carry with you for years to come. I am by no means a professional, and Garreth was amazing at teaching me, explaining everything as we went, and making the whole experience so much fun. If you want to spend the day with someone who genuinely loves what he does and wants you to love it just as much, Garreth is your guy!

I’ve known Gareth for over 15 years, and I can honestly say his knowledge of anything water-related is second to none. He’s a great fisherman and an excellent skipper, and I’ve always trusted his judgement when it comes to finding the fish and, most importantly, keeping everyone safe. He’s also a really friendly and approachable guy, which makes spending a day out on the water with him even better. His brand-new boat, Benguela, is easily one of the best fishing charter boats I’ve seen in Cape Town. You can tell a lot of thought and passion has gone into the boat and the whole experience. If you’re looking for a fishing charter in Cape Town, you really can’t go wrong with Atlantic Adrift. I’d highly recommend Gareth and the team!
